What is airman.com?
Airman.com is a service that offers an airman like you a unique, vanity e-mail address such as johnsmith@airman.com or janesmith@airwoman.net.  Your vanity e-mail address can be used in addition to, or as a replacement for, your regular e-mail address.  Airman.com forwards e-mails with your vanity e-mail address to your regular e-mail address.

Why would I want a vanity e-mail address?
A vanity e-mail address has three main advantages over your regular e-mail address:  (1) The beginning  of the address contains your first name and last name.  It's easier for your friends and associates to remember; (2) The end of the address is "airman" that depicts your hobby or career.  It sets you apart (dare we say above?)  from 99% of the population; and (3) The entire address can be retained by you even when you switch to another Internet Service Provider (ISP).  By notifying us of your new e-mail address, you eliminate the hassle of notifying ten, twenty, or thirty other friends and Web sites about your new ISP.  In other words, you can drop an ISP who gives poor service, or you can switch to an ISP that offers a better deal, without the hassle of changing your e-mail address throughout the Internet.

Are there other advantages of a vanity e-mail address?
Yes.  With most ISPs, your regular e-mail address, as well as the identity of your ISP, can be concealed. When you send e-mail messages, your reply address will be shown as your vanity e-mail address (i.e. johnsmith@airman.com) rather than your regular address (i.e. jsmith239@earthlink.net). This makes it much easier for friends to remember your e-mail address. Airman.com provides simple instructions on how to set this up with various e-mail programs and ISPs. Just follow the steps by entering your vanity e-mail address typically once in the "E-Mail Options" of your software (i.e. Outlook Express or web mail).

Will my regular e-mail address still work?
Yes, as long as you continue service with your current ISP.

Can I pick any name that I want for my vanity e-mail address?
No, but the restrictions are very reasonable. The name must represent your first name and last name. Also, the name must not already be taken within the domains, airman.com or airwoman.net

Are other domains besides airman.com and airwoman.net available?
Yes. Generic domains such as 800mailbox.net are available. For example, John Smith could request the name, johnsmith@airman.com or johnsmith@800mailbox.net. As a matter of fact, John Smith could obtain both names — one for personal use and one for business use.  Specialized domains such as ladyflyer.net are also available.

How much does a vanity e-mail address cost?
The price is $19.95 per year.
